Health Studies Across Ireland

Health Studies in Ireland

8 days Dublin & Cork

Health Studies

The Health Studies Faculty-Led Program in Ireland offers students a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of global health systems, medical history, and public health policy across two of Ireland’s most vibrant cities, Dublin and Cork.

Over 8 days and 7 nights, participants will visit leading academic and professional institutions, engage with health experts, and gain an international perspective on healthcare education, nursing, pharmaceutical administration, and public health. The program blends academic immersion, institutional site visits, professional networking, and cultural exploration, providing students with a well-rounded understanding of health systems in a global context.

Through guided visits, expert lectures, and hands-on experiences, students will gain insight into historical epidemiology, modern clinical practice, and public health policy. Visits to institutions such as Trinity College Dublin’s School of Nursing and Midwifery, the Royal College of Surgeons’ advanced clinical simulation facilities, the Irish Pharmacy Union, and the University College Cork will deepen students’ understanding of healthcare delivery, pharmaceutical services, and nursing models across Ireland’s public and academic sectors. The program also includes a compelling historical dimension, with a lecture aboard the Jeanie Johnston — a replica 19th-century famine ship — exploring the spread of typhus and cholera during mass migration and the evolution of quarantine protocols.

In addition to the academic and professional experiences, students will enjoy cultural immersion through walking tours of Dublin and Cork, discovering landmarks such as Dublin Castle, Christchurch Cathedral, St. Finbarr’s Cathedral, and the English Market, along with a Welcome Dinner at Old Mill Restaurant and a Farewell Dinner at The SpitJack to celebrate their journey.
