Criminal Justice in England and Scotland

Criminal Justice

This program provides an in-depth exploration of the UK’s criminal justice system, blending historical insights with modern legal perspectives. Designed for students interested in law, criminology and social justice, the program includes visits to significant landmarks in London and Edinburgh that illustrate the development of law enforcement, legal traditions and notable historical crimes.

Students will analyze notorious crimes such as the Jack the Ripper murders, investigate how policing and forensic science have evolved and compare the criminal justice systems of England and Scotland. By engaging with historical landmarks and participating in walking tours, students will gain a well-rounded understanding of the societal, cultural and political factors that shape the justice system in the UK.
