Chemistry Manufactories and Laboratories in the United Kingdom

Chemistry – UK

9 days London & Birmingham

Chemistry

The Chemistry Faculty-Led Program in the UK offers students a unique opportunity to explore historic scientific discovery, industrial innovation, and chemical manufacturing across London and Birmingham, two of Britain’s leading hubs for research and industry.

Over 9 days and 8 nights, participants will engage with world-class laboratories, prestigious universities, and a leading chemical manufacturer, gaining insight into how classroom theory translates into commercial execution. The program blends academic visits, industrial site tours, and cultural immersion for a comprehensive study abroad experience.

Through expert visits and technical tours, students will bridge the gap between research and real-world application. Academic highlights include a visit to University College London’s Chemistry Department, a session at the Royal Society of Chemistry, and a lecture on green chemistry at the University of Birmingham’s Molecular Sciences Building. Industrial exposure comes via a technical tour of Robinson Brothers Limited, one of the UK’s leading chemical manufacturers, specializing in fine chemicals and rubber accelerators. Visits to the British Museum and Science Museum further connect students to the broader history of human scientific and cultural achievement.

Beyond the lab and lecture hall, students will enjoy cultural immersion through walking tours of London and Birmingham, a creative pottery workshop, and traditional British dining.
