The Communication and Media Faculty-Led Program in Spain offers students a unique opportunity to explore political communication, digital journalism, and cultural storytelling across Madrid and Seville, within one of Europe’s most dynamic media landscapes.
Over 7 days and 6 nights, participants will engage with leading universities and professional media enterprises, gaining insight into how digital platforms shape modern public discourse and cross-cultural branding. The program blends academic seminars, industry immersion, and cultural exploration for a comprehensive study abroad experience.
Through expert lectures and professional site visits, students will examine media from its academic foundations to its real-time production. Academic highlights include a lecture on political campaign strategies and the evolution of European public broadcasting at the Complutense University of Madrid, and a session on international communication crises and social media at the University of Seville’s School of Communication. A standout industry visit to RTVE’s Torrespaña facility gives students direct access to Spain’s national public broadcaster, observing live news production, editorial boardrooms, and satellite transmission feeds in real time.
Beyond the lecture hall, students will enjoy a guided tour of the Prado Museum, a city walk through Madrid’s historic arts district exploring street performance and public sculpture, a flamenco show in Seville, and traditional dining celebrating both Castilian and Andalusian cuisine.
