Study of Literature in the United Kingdom

Literature – UK

7 days London & Oxford

Literature

The Literature Faculty-Led Program in the UK offers students a unique opportunity to trace the evolution of English narrative form, from Elizabethan drama to modernist innovation, across London and Oxford.

Over 7 days and 6 nights, participants will engage with leading universities and core cultural institutions, gaining a deep understanding of how dramatic history and literary movements have shaped the English literary tradition. The program blends academic lectures, institutional immersion, and cultural exploration for a comprehensive study abroad experience.

Through expert lectures and immersive site visits, students will examine literature within the very landscapes that shaped it. Academic highlights include a lecture on early modern dramatic structures and Elizabethan performance politics at King’s College London, and a session on the Modernist Revolution — exploring Virginia Woolf, T.S. Eliot, and the topography of the London street — at University College London. These ideas come to life through a guided visit to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, a reconstruction of the original Elizabethan playhouse, and a literary walking tour of Oxford’s historic streets.

Beyond the lecture hall, students will enjoy a guided tour of the British Museum, a walking tour of London, and traditional dining experiences throughout the journey.
