Studies of Nutrition, Fitness, & Health in Ireland

Nutrition, Fitness, and Health – Ireland

10 days Dublin, Waterford, & Cork

Nutrition, Fitness, & Health

The Nutrition, Fitness, and Health Faculty-Led Program in Ireland offers students a unique opportunity to explore the science of human performance, sports nutrition, and functional food within one of Europe’s leading nations in elite sports research, across Dublin, Waterford, and Cork.

Over 10 days and 9 nights, participants will engage with world-class universities, cutting-edge athletic facilities, and food science institutions, gaining an international perspective on exercise physiology, biomechanics, and nutritional science. The program blends academic seminars, institutional site visits, and cultural immersion for a comprehensive study abroad experience.

Through expert lectures and hands-on facility visits, students will examine how evidence-based science shapes modern human performance. Highlights include a focused seminar on performance nutrition and exercise physiology at Dublin City University, a biomechanics session at South East Technological University in Waterford, and a lecture on functional food ingredients and nutrition for mental development at University College Cork. A visit to the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena — the newest multi-sport facility of its kind in Europe — will further connect students to Ireland’s high-performance sports ecosystem.

Beyond the classroom, students will enjoy rich cultural experiences including a tour of the House of Waterford Crystal, a visit to Blarney Castle and its famous Stone of Eloquence, walking tours of Dublin and Cork, and group dinners celebrating Irish food and tradition.
