Embark on an unique journey through Ireland with our Veterinary Technology program in Ireland offers a dynamic and immersive experience for students eager to expand their knowledge in veterinary science and animal care while gaining valuable insights into international practices. Set against the backdrop of Ireland’s lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage, the program provides a comprehensive understanding of veterinary practices across a variety of settings, including dairy farms, wildlife parks and animal sanctuaries.
Students will engage in hands-on learning experiences with local veterinarians, farmers and conservationists, exploring diverse topics such as animal health management, sustainable agricultural practices, and wildlife rehabilitation. Visits to working dairy farms will give students the opportunity to observe the daily operations of Irish agriculture, while gaining a deeper understanding of the health, welfare and management of livestock in a farming culture known for its close connection to the land.
Through guest lectures and guided tours of veterinary clinics, participants will learn about the veterinary profession in Ireland, including educational pathways, the daily responsibilities of veterinary professionals, and the ethical considerations that guide their work.

Depart from the USA.
Day 2
Morning
Arrive in Dublin and meet with your Group Leader at Dublin Airport. Transport to Dublin City to check-in to accommodation.
Late morning
Walking tour of Dublin city centre.
Afternoon
Visit to the Book of Kells at Trinity College Dublin.
Book of Kells:\xA0This scene-stealing route around the Iveragh Peninsula, beginning and ending in Killarney, takes in all the big hitters – Moll’s Gap Torc Waterfall and the Gap of Dunloe are winners – but really, the route itself is so much more than the sum of its parts. Within this 179km of road, you’ll find that each turn brings a new treat to the eye, from lakes, rivers and waterfalls, to grand houses and castles.

Group Welcome Dinner including Traditional Irish Music & Dance Show.
Day 3
Morning
Depart hotel for a Dairy Farm Visit.\xA0Visit a local dairy farm to learn about the different practices in\xA0dairy farming in Ireland and how they differ from the US. Students will have the opportunity to observe and interact with the animals, as well as a discussion with local farmers to understand the culture of farming in Ireland and what a typical day on the farm entails.
Afternoon
Visit to the Guinness Storehouse.
Discover the history of Guinness through this interactive tour on a four-acre brewery site in the heart of Dublin City. Discover how Arthur Guinness, the original Master Brewer and pioneer at Guinness, created a craft that has been passed down from generation to generation and continues to inspire today.
Day 4
Morning
Guest lecture with a local small animal vet to learn about the journey to becoming a vet in Ireland. The visit will allow students to learn what the process could look like to become a vet and ask questions hearing from a professional in the field.
Afternoon
Depart for Cork.
Evening
Check in to accommodations followed by a short walking tour of the surrounding area.
Day 5
Morning
Day trip to Fota Wildlife Park & Education Centre.
Fota Wildlife Park is a 100-acre wildlife park located on Fota Island, near Carrigtwohill, County Cork, Ireland. This Zoo has a unique feature where you can come face to face with free roaming animals and birds from all parts of the world. Enjoy a custom tour geared towards adult learners to learn more about the conservation work that Fota does.

Day 6
Morning
Ring of Kerry day tour with stop at Muckross Traditional Gardens.
Ring of Kerry:\xA0This is one of the most scenic routes in Ireland through the Iveragh Peninsula. Within this 179km of road, you'll find the most stunning treasures such as lakes, rivers, waterfalls, castles and most of all, the jaw-dropping cliffs.
Muckross Traditional Gardens:\xA0This is a nineteenth century Victorian mansion that is set against the stunning beauty of Killarney National Park. The house stands close to Muckross Lake, one of Killarney's three lakes, famed worldwide for their splendour and beauty.
Day 7
Morning
Visit to Donkey Sanctuary Cork.
This sanctuary has cared for over 5,600 donkeys that had been neglected and abandoned all over Ireland. This farm is nestled in the beautiful rolling hillsides, outside Liscarroll village. Here students will be able to learn more about what an animal sanuary does and how it helps the animals.
Afternoon
Blarney Castle Visit.
This Medieval castle was built by the MacCarthy of Muskerry dynasty, a cadet branch of the Kings of Desmond, and dates from 1446. This historic castle is most known for it’s stone, the Blarney Stone, which has the traditional power of conferring eloquence to all who kiss it.
Evening
Group Farewell Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 8
Morning
Bus Transfer to Dublin airport to return to the United States.
